The 2006 Corn & Sorghum and Soybean Seed Research Conference, now called CSS 2006, represents the largest annual gathering of seed professionals in the world. It features informative speakers and an ever-expanding trade show, the Seed Expo.

For 2006, several enhancements have been made to the traditional program that result in a series of don't-miss sessions. A brand-new Opening General Session kicks off the newly-formatted convention programming on Tuesday, December5 (see box at right). A full schedule of Soybean Seed Research Sessions follows on Wednesday, leading up to Thursday morning's Joint General Session for all attendees. Thursday afternoon begins the concurrent Corn Seed sessions, which continue through Friday morning, December 8, and once again ASTA has programmed sessions dedicated solely to Sorghum seed topics. Registration Fees

One registration fee covers all events — the Soybean Seed Conference, Corn & Sorghum Seed Conference, and admission to Seed Expo 2006. Register by November 15 and save $75. Spouses and/or accompanying guests that work within the seed industry must pay the general delegate price. Registration fees are waived for currently enrolled graduate students in agriculture; proof of enrollment is required. Day Passes to attend just the Seed Expo will be available on-site for ASTA members only at a cost of $100 per day for Wednesday and Thursday (reception included).

Hotel Accommodations

Special room rates are available until November 10 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago (ASTA conference hotel). Rates start at $110. Additional rooms are available at the official ASTA overflow hotel: Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers ((312) 464-1000, at a rate of $110 single/$120 double). Proceedings

Proceedings of both conferences and a full listing of Seed Expo exhibitors are being offered to ASTA members on a CD-ROM for $30, and to non-members for $75. Information on exhibitors and audio recordings will also be included on this CD. Printed versions of the proceedings will not be available.
