Celebrate the Association’s accomplishments and rich history at the Reception and Gala Banquet, featuring the musical and political satire of the Capitol Steps. What began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them for a Christmas party in 1981 is now 30 years in the making with more than 30 recorded albums. The Steps have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. Although not all of the current members are former Capitol Hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. When the show ends, the dancing begins.
